The First Aid Survival Tin Survivor Series Book 3 edition by Anson Bond Health Fitness Dieting eBooks

Meh. I suppose it's OK. The volume only costs a dollar (at the time of this writing), and the author seems to have put some thought into what he wrote. However as a former US Army combat medic, civilian EMT, and a nurse I'm not really impressed with his selections. Nothing really bad, but some of it seems less than ideal. He recommends nitrile gloves because people have latex allergies but not nitrile allergies. That's not true. The chemical additives used to make latex gloves are the ones used to make nitrile gloves and many people DO have allergies to nitrile. He also says vinyl gloves don't provide the same protection. Also, not true. The vulnerability is that vinyl is not as flexible as nitrile (which is not as flexible as latex) so the risk of a tear in the glove is easier. Bottom line, make sure you don't have an allergy to whatever material gloves you use. Otherwise, you'll be creating a medical problem for yourself during an already bad situation.
He recommends a Derma Bond-type adhesive for closing wounds. Then he turns around and recommends supplies to perform sutures. Well, which is it?! The glue or the sutures?! Personally, I'd recommend the glue because it takes less skill to administer. The rest of the contents he recommends aren't bad but the recommended quantities are woefully inadequate to do much. Maybe skipping the suture supplies will leave room for more of the other things. Of course, it's an Altoids tin so you can only fit so much one. In any case, the book is a good starting point. I'd recommend treating it like any other first aid kit. Keep track of the expiration dates of any meds you keep in it.

Found this to be very informative and easy to read. Writer gives give advice and points out what a suvival tin can and cannot do.
good for its intent , thing is a TRUE first aid kit this small ?? pertty useless .... just sayin' . didnt cost me much so i found it useful and glad i bought for the ideas .
Excellent book for those of us who may need to know what to have with you at all times. It allows you to help someone in need. However a good first aid course is a must.
This is a good book with a lot of tips on how to pack a tin First Aid Box. Any one who is a hiker should get this little book. Good info. Not just Hikers though, everyone can and should keep one on thier person or in thier car, bike or backpack.
Well throught-out kit. Going to build one for each family member with the spare stuff.

This a keeper for the liberary.
I found this to only be somewhat useful, how many useful things can really come out of a Altoids tin. I will say it is better to have one than not. As always, YMMV
These are a good source of information. Altoids tins make great edc kits and these types of books make great sources of what to stock your kits with.
