Emergency Medical Spanish For Travelers edition by Marilyn Moss Reference eBooks
One always hopes they don't need medical attention while traveling anywhere -- much less in a country with a different language. However, we all know "stuff happens." A close friend had a stroke while in Mexico and it was only through luck that someone close recognized the symptoms and got him to a hospital. However, he does not speak Spanish and had no idea what questions were being asked of him, etc. This book is well categorized into different problems that might arise, from a vehicle accident to illness to allergies to symptoms such as chest pain, etc.
It was written by a Paramedic/EMT so covers most of the things that might occur if we were traveling in the US or anywhere -- but gives the Spanish translations to what information would be needed if you happen to be in an area where only Spanish is spoken. It's bad enough to have a medical problem when traveling but at such a stressful time even if we speak a little Spanish, we might have trouble finding the right words.
It can be had in book form or Kindle version, but doesn't take up much room either way. So, I think as wise travelers we take many items we "might need" as we travel. If you're heading where Spanish is spoken this should be among those items.

Emergency Medical Spanish For Travelers edition by Marilyn Moss Reference eBooks Reviews
I bought this book a while back and wanted to get the edition as soon as it came out. In an emergency we know it would be likely that we'd forget our spanish... I want to keep this book handy at all times, since we live in and travel Mexico all year round. Highly recommend!
very useful for communicating with foreigners when they are sick, it is difficult to suggest that is exactly it hurts
Easy to understand because it all was simplified. I am having tests tomorrow at the hospital. Will take this along.
Great resource. I appreciate the grammar lesson that is included with the medical terminology. Hope that I never need it, but glad that I have it.
Living in Mexico I've always feared the day I'd need all of the information in this book. As my Spanish improves that fear deminishes and this book has helped get me to that point.
This guide would be good for a casual tourist. If one knows basic Spanish this guide is helpful. If one speaks a little better Spanish then this guide is overly simplified. It might also be more helpful if the user had a smart phone or tablet that they carried all the time so it was available on the go,
This is a potentially life-saving book for any traveler to or resident of a Spanish-speaking country. Even if your Spanish is good (mine is very basic) you're very unlikely to know Spanish medical terminology. The author is a seasoned medical professional who has pretty much seen it all, medically and cross-culturally, in the U.S. and México, so this guide is extremely practical and to-the-point.
My wife and I keep this book on our s and on our apps on our iPods. It's right up there with our passports on the "don't leave home without it" list.
